Moltbot: The Dumbass AI That Wants Your Data… and Maybe Your Soul

Oh for fuck’s sake, the internet has gone and done it again. Some shiny new so-called “AI assistant” called Moltbot has gone viral, because apparently people never learned not to hand over their private crap to random machines that pop up on TikTok. Everyone and their dog is drooling over this bot like it’s the second coming of ChatGPT, while completely ignoring the small detail that it might just be hoovering up your personal data faster than a cheap vacuum cleaner on sale.

BleepingComputer reports that this Moltbot monstrosity is raising all kinds of red flags about data privacy, sketchy permissions, and good old-fashioned “what the fuck are you doing with my info” concerns. The bot’s makers — in their infinite corporate wisdom — haven’t exactly been crystal clear about what the hell they’re collecting or how they’re storing it, leaving experts scratching their heads and users blissfully unaware that their private information could be sitting in some dodgy cloud, ripe for the picking.

Meanwhile, people are lining up to feed it photos, private chats, and God knows what else, all while the developers mumble about “transparency” and “safety” without actually delivering either. Because sure, nothing says trustworthy like a viral AI of mysterious origins that’s suddenly asking for access to your life. It’s like those phishing emails from Nigerian princes — but with better marketing and a chat interface.

So yeah, if you’re stupid enough to throw your data at this thing, don’t come crying when your identity is being used to take out loans or sell crypto scams to your grandma. Some of us can already hear the distant sound of “We told you so” echoing down the fiber cables.
