Microsoft Edge is now an AI browser with launch of ‘Copilot Mode’

Microsoft Edge is STILL Trying, Apparently

Oh, For Fucking Christ’s Sake: Edge Gets “Copilot Mode”

Right. Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom (and desperate need to not have Edge be a complete joke), have shoved even MORE AI into Edge. They’re calling it “Copilot mode.” Basically, it lets you ask Copilot questions *about* the webpage you’re looking at. Groundbreaking. Truly revolutionary. Like we didn’t already have tabs and Google.

It’s got a sidebar now, because apparently the browser wasn’t cluttered enough. You can summarize pages (because reading is hard, I guess), explain complex stuff (for the intellectually challenged, naturally), and even generate content based on what you’re viewing. They’ve also integrated it with Office apps – so you can take your AI-generated garbage directly into Word or Excel. Fantastic.

And of course, it’s powered by their latest models (because everything has to be “powered by AI” now). They’re bragging about how much faster it is and how “seamless” it all is. I bet. Expect bugs, expect hallucinations, expect your browser to eat 8GB of RAM just to tell you the capital of France.

They’ve even got a “Copilot in Teams” thing now too. Because why not ruin *another* perfectly functional application? It’s all about “productivity” they say. I call it another way to waste time and look busy while accomplishing nothing.

Honestly, the whole thing just feels like Microsoft throwing spaghetti at a wall to see what sticks. They’re trying SO HARD to make Edge relevant. It’s pathetic, really. And annoying. Very, very annoying.

Speaking of useless features, I once had a user demand I install Solitaire on a server. A SERVER! Said it was “critical for system downtime stress relief.” I swear, people are idiots. This Edge thing? Same energy. Just… stop.
