Meta’s AI Recruiting Campaign Finds a New Target

Zuckerberg’s AI Clusterfuck – A Summary (Because I Have To)

Oh, *Now* He Cares About “Thinking Machines”?

Right. So Zuck’s decided he needs an AI army. After spending a decade hoovering up every scrap of data imaginable without a second thought for privacy or consequences, the man’s suddenly all about “building truly intelligent machines.” Yeah, okay. Convenient timing when everyone’s realizing his empire is built on a foundation of glorified ad targeting and questionable ethics.

He’s throwing money – lots of it – at poaching AI talent from *everywhere*. Meta’s building massive infrastructure, basically trying to brute-force their way into relevance in the generative AI space. They want “open source” but also want control, which is a contradiction in terms if you ask me (and nobody did). He’s talking about “embodied AI” and robots… because apparently just ruining social interaction wasn’t enough.

The article basically boils down to: Zuck fucked around and found out he needs actual *brains* to compete with Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI. Now he’s desperately trying to catch up by throwing cash at the problem and hoping for the best. It’s a whole lot of hype and very little substance so far. Expect more metaverse bullshit disguised as cutting-edge AI.

Honestly? It smells like panic. Pure, unadulterated panic.

Related Anecdote: Back in ’98, I had a user try to build an AI to automatically generate cat pictures for his GeoCities site. He kept feeding it images of blurry socks and asking why it wasn’t producing felines. The system crashed spectacularly. Zuck’s operation is just that, but with billions of dollars and slightly less sock imagery. Don’t hold your breath.
