Hackers plant 4G Raspberry Pi on bank network in failed ATM heist

Seriously?! Another One…

You’ve Got to Be Fucking Kidding Me: Raspberry Pi ATM Heist – Failed, Thankfully.

Right, listen up, you lot. Some absolute morons – and I use that term *generously* – tried to rob a bank by sticking a Raspberry Pi on their network. A Raspberry Pi. Like the thing kids learn coding on. Honestly.

Apparently, they jammed this little piece of crap into the bank’s data center, connected it via 4G (because *obviously* that’s secure), and hoped to manipulate ATMs. They managed to get onto the network, alright, but couldn’t actually get past the security measures to pull any money out. Pathetic.

The bank spotted the thing because – shocker – unauthorized devices on their network tend to raise flags. They traced it back, and now the cops are involved. The whole operation was a complete clusterfuck, and they didn’t get a single goddamn dollar. Good. Serves ’em right.

The article mentions they were trying to use this setup for skimming or direct cash withdrawals. Honestly, if you’re relying on a Raspberry Pi and 4G against a bank’s security, you deserve whatever happens to you. It’s just… embarrassing for everyone involved, frankly.

Don’t even get me started on the fact that they left evidence everywhere. Seriously? Amateurs. Utter, complete amateurs.

Speaking of incompetence, I once had a user try to bypass the firewall by unplugging it and plugging it back in. Said it “fixed the internet.” I swear, some people shouldn’t be allowed near power outlets, let alone bank networks.
