SafePay ransomware threatens to leak 3.5TB of Ingram Micro data

Ingram Micro Got Pwned, Again.

Seriously? Ingram Micro. *Again.*

Oh joy, another data breach. This time it’s Ingram Micro, the wholesale tech distributor, getting their pants handed to them by the Safepay ransomware gang. 35 TERABYTES of data stolen. Thirty-five! That’s not a leak, that’s a goddamn flood. Apparently, they were hit back in September but are *just now* admitting it. Fantastic security posture, guys. Real top tier.

Safepay is threatening to dump the whole mess online if their ransom demands aren’t met – which, let’s be real, they probably should have paid just to avoid this headache. The data includes everything from customer info and financial records to internal documents. So basically, a goldmine for anyone wanting to commit fraud or generally cause chaos.

Ingram Micro is claiming they’ve notified law enforcement (big whoop) and are “working with experts” (read: scrambling like headless chickens). They’re also saying their systems are secure now. Sure they are. I bet the next breach will be even bigger, just watch.

Honestly, if you do business with Ingram Micro, change *everything*. Passwords, credit cards, your name… maybe even move to a different planet. You’re probably already compromised.

You know, reminds me of this time a “security consultant” told my previous employer their network was impenetrable because they had a firewall. A *firewall*. Like that’s some kind of magical shield against determined attackers. I swear, sometimes I think people just make up these titles and hope nobody asks what they actually do. Anyway, back to ignoring your security issues…
