Oh, For Fucking Christ, Meta Again

Right, so Zuckerberg’s still on about building Artificial General Intelligence. Apparently, he thinks they’ll have something resembling it by Q2 2025. Yeah, right. Like *that’ll* happen. The whole earnings call was basically him flapping his gums about spending billions more on this pipe dream while Reality Labs continues to hemorrhage cash like a stuck pig. They’re throwing money at hardware – specifically, these ridiculously expensive VR headsets nobody actually wants – hoping AI will magically fix everything.

The gist? Meta’s betting the farm on AI being the savior of their increasingly pathetic social media empire and their vanity project metaverse. They’re building a massive infrastructure (more servers, naturally) to train these models, and they expect it to cost… well, a *lot*. They’re talking about needing “exascale computing” which is just tech-bro speak for “we have no idea what we’re doing but we need more power”. And the kicker? They think this AI will generate revenue. Revenue from what exactly? More targeted ads to people who are already sick of them? Don’t even get me started on the “open science” bullshit – it’s just a PR stunt to look less like they’re building Skynet.

Honestly, it’s all just a desperate attempt to distract from the fact that Facebook is dying and Instagram is becoming TikTok 2.0. They’re hoping AI will be their get-out-of-jail-free card. Spoiler alert: It won’t. This whole thing smells like hubris and desperation, wrapped in a thin layer of silicon valley optimism.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for superintelligence. Just expect more pointless VR crap and increasingly invasive data collection. You’ve been warned.
