Right, so some people are planning a tech show in Dubai next year – GITEX GLOBAL 2025. Apparently it’s going to be HUGE. Like, unbelievably massive. They’re talking about AI *everywhere*, cybersecurity (because someone finally noticed that shit’s important), and all the other buzzwords you’ve heard a million times: cloud, metaverse, sustainability… blah, blah, fucking blah.

They expect over 180,000 attendees. Seriously? 180,000 people wandering around looking at shiny objects and pretending to understand blockchain? It’s going to be a clusterfuck of sales pitches and empty promises, I guarantee it. They’re even trying to attract startups with some “Global Startup Movement” thing. As if throwing money at problems solves them.

The focus is on “AI in everything” – which translates to ‘we’re slapping an AI label on anything we can to get funding’. Expect a lot of vendors claiming their toaster oven uses advanced machine learning. There’s also a big push for government partnerships, meaning even *more* bureaucracy and pointless initiatives. And don’t forget the “innovation” – which is usually just repackaged old tech with a new coat of paint.

Honestly? It sounds like a colossal waste of time and resources. But hey, someone’s making money off this nonsense. Probably not *you*, though.

I once had to debug a system that was supposed to be “AI-powered” for a financial firm. Turns out, the ‘AI’ was just a series of nested IF statements written by some intern who barely knew how to spell ‘algorithm’. The whole thing crashed every time someone tried to trade options on a Tuesday. This conference will be full of that kind of garbage, mark my words.
