Anthropic Just Ate Another Company. Seriously.
Right, so Anthropic – those Claude-peddling clowns – decided they weren’t already bloated enough and just bought Humanloop. Humanloop? They made tools for… wait for it… *evaluating* Large Language Models. Like anyone actually trusts these things enough to need dedicated evaluation teams. Honestly.
Apparently, this is because everyone’s scrambling for people who can make their AI not completely fuck up in front of paying customers. Enterprise AI is the new gold rush, and it’s all about preventing hallucinations and making sure the bots don’t spout racist garbage. Shocking. The whole team is going over there, which means more money thrown at a problem that should have been solved *before* unleashing these digital nightmares on the world.
The article drones on about how competitive this talent grab is. Yeah, no shit. Everyone wants to build the least-worst AI and they’re willing to pay insane amounts of cash for it. It’s a clusterfuck of venture capital and desperate hope. Expect more acquisitions, more hype, and ultimately, more disappointment.
Honestly, I could probably do better with a random number generator and a strongly worded disclaimer. But hey, who am I to question the flow of money? Just another day in the AI apocalypse, I guess.

Speaking of evaluation, I once had to debug a script that was supposed to flag inappropriate content. It kept flagging perfectly innocent cat pictures because someone decided “fluffy” was a trigger word. Fluffy! You can’t make this shit up. The humans are doomed.
