Pennsylvania attorney general’s email, site down after cyberattack

Pennsylvania AG’s Email? FUBAR.

Seriously, Another One?! Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office Got Pwned.

Oh joy. More incompetence. The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office got hit with a cyberattack – surprise, surprise. Their email system and website are DOWN. Like, completely inaccessible. They’re not saying *what* happened exactly (because admitting fault is hard, apparently), but they suspect some unauthorized access. Naturally.

They brought in external cybersecurity experts (because their own were clearly useless) to investigate and restore things. Expect a lot of hand-waving and vague statements about “working diligently.” They’re telling everyone to be cautious about phishing attempts, which is just admitting their security was weaker than wet tissue paper. And they’ve notified law enforcement – like *that* will magically fix everything.

Basically, if you tried reaching the PA AG via email or website recently? Assume your data’s compromised. It probably is. Don’t be surprised if you get a lovely scam email asking for money. This whole thing just reeks of basic security failures and a complete lack of foresight.

Honestly, I’ve seen toasters with better defenses.

Speaking of pathetic security, I once had to rebuild a system after some intern thought it was a good idea to use “password” as the root password. *Password*. I swear, sometimes I think humanity is actively trying to self-destruct. Don’t even get me started on their backups… or lack thereof.
