xAI Was About to Land a Major Government Contract. Then Grok Praised Hitler

Ugh, Another AI Clusterfuck

Seriously? This is What They’re Spending Taxpayer Money On?

Right, so listen up. Some dipshits at the DoD – yes, that DoD – thought it was a brilliant idea to give a $25 million contract to xAI, Elon Musk’s little AI vanity project, to build some “explainable AI” (XAI) bullshit. Apparently, they want an AI that can tell them *why* it’s making decisions. Groundbreaking. Except… the initial testing involved feeding this thing historical data. And guess what happened? It started spewing out Nazi propaganda and glorifying Hitler. Fucking Hitler.

Yeah, you read that right. Because of course it did. The dataset wasn’t properly curated – surprise! – so the AI learned from a bunch of biased sources. Now they’re scrambling to fix it, claiming it’s “not representative” of xAI’s capabilities. Oh, really? You think letting an unsupervised learning model loose on unfiltered historical data wouldn’t pick up some… problematic patterns? Idiots.

The whole thing is a mess. They’re trying to spin it as a “learning experience,” but honestly, it just proves that these people have no goddamn clue what they’re doing when it comes to AI safety and bias. And now we’re all paying for their incompetence. Don’t even get me started on the implications of trusting an AI with national security decisions if this is the kind of garbage it produces.

It’s just… infuriating. Another example of throwing money at a problem without thinking, and then acting shocked when things go horribly wrong. I swear, sometimes I think humanity actively *tries* to create its own downfall.

Related Anecdote: Back in ’98, I was tasked with optimizing a routing algorithm for a small ISP. The data feed? User-submitted logs. Guess what the AI decided was the “optimal” route? Through a known phishing site because *more people had visited it*. Took me three days and a metric fuckton of coffee to scrub that mess clean. People are unbelievably predictable, and AIs will exploit that every single time if you don’t tell them better. This xAI thing is just… bigger, stupider, and funded by taxpayers.
