Seriously? Ad Blockers Might Be ILLEGAL in Germany.
Oh, for the love of all that is holy… Germany’s contemplating making ad blockers illegal. Apparently, some judges are whining that blocking ads harms websites’ revenue – no fucking kidding, Sherlock! They’re basing this on some EU copyright directive bullshit and claiming it interferes with how sites “make money.” Like users should just be *forced* to endure endless tracking, pop-ups, and resource-hogging garbage because… reasons.
Mozilla’s trying to warn everyone that this is a disaster waiting to happen, pointing out it’ll kneecap user privacy and freedom. But do you think anyone in power actually *cares* about that? Nah. They’re too busy lining their pockets or pandering to corporate interests. Expect a whole lot of legal fights if this goes through, and probably a bunch of sites trying to circumvent blockers anyway – making the internet even more awful for everyone. It’s just fantastic. Absolutely fucking brilliant.
Basically, prepare to be bombarded with ads again unless you want to risk some legal nonsense. Don’t expect me to shed a tear when German websites become unusable piles of tracking scripts and autoplaying videos. I told you the internet was going to hell years ago, and here we are.

And another thing…
I once had to deal with a server admin who insisted on embedding animated GIFs *everywhere* on his website. “For visual appeal,” he said. It brought the entire damn system down during peak hours. He then blamed the users for having “slow connections.” Some people just don’t get it, and Germany is shaping up to be full of them.
