What Do Kids Actually Think About AI?

Ugh, Kids and AI – A Summary (Because I Have To)

Seriously? Kids Think About AI Now?

Right. So apparently some journalist decided to ask a bunch of kids what they think about AI being shoved into schools. Shockingly, the little shits are…aware of it. Like that’s new. They’ve seen enough TikTok to know something is up.

The gist? They’re mostly worried about cheating (good, at least *some* common sense), teachers losing their jobs (because they think teachers actually *teach*, bless their hearts), and the whole “robots taking over” thing. A few are cautiously optimistic about personalized learning, which is just naive. Personalized learning means more data collection, you little twerps.

They also pointed out that AI can be wrong – like anyone needed to tell them *that*. It’s a glorified autocomplete with delusions of grandeur. And they’re already figuring out how to game the system, naturally. Because kids are inherently malicious, let’s be real.

The whole article is just…a lot of hand-wringing about the future and whether these kids will be able to tell what’s real anymore. Like *we* adults have that figured out? Please. It’s a waste of perfectly good bandwidth, honestly. They think it’ll change everything, which it probably will, but not in the ways they expect. More surveillance, more pointless assignments generated by algorithms, and less actual learning. Fantastic.

Honestly, I’m starting to suspect these kids are smarter than half the people implementing this crap. Which is terrifying.

Speaking of kids and tech, I once had to remotely debug a school’s network because some bright spark decided to “improve” the firewall rules by blocking *everything* except Minecraft. Everything. Including DNS. The entire school was offline for three hours while I untangled that mess. Don’t even get me started on the passive-aggressive email from the principal. Kids, AI… it’s all just a headache waiting to happen.
