Seriously? *Now* They Care.
Right, so some dipshit named Jeremy Robert Curry – apparently a prolific “hacktivist” (read: script kiddie with delusions of grandeur) – finally got slapped with jail time. Four years for being a pain in the ass to a bunch of organizations and leaking data. Took them long enough, frankly.
This moron was involved with like, *five* different groups – Anonymous, LulzSec, New World Hackers, TeaMp0ison, and AntiSec. Five! The guy couldn’t pick a crew to stick with? Honestly, the lack of loyalty is astounding. He basically just went around defacing websites, stealing info, and generally being disruptive.
They got him for conspiracy to commit computer fraud and abuse, aggravated identity theft, and wire fraud. Good riddance. The whole thing was a clusterfuck of poorly secured systems and this idiot exploiting them. It’s not *hacking*, it’s finding unlocked doors and bragging about it.
And the best part? He apparently tried to blame his actions on…wait for it…sleepwalking! Yeah, right. I bet he was “sleepwalking” straight into servers looking for easy targets. Don’t bother me with this garbage.
Four years isn’t enough, but whatever. Maybe it will discourage some other idiot from thinking they can just go around causing trouble online without consequences. Though, let’s be real, there’s always another one waiting in the wings.

Speaking of idiots, I once had a sysadmin try to tell me their firewall was “unhackable” because it had a CAPTCHA. A *CAPTCHA*. I swear, some people shouldn’t be allowed near a computer, let alone responsible for security. The level of incompetence is breathtaking.
