Seriously? Code-to-Cloud Mapping. You’ve Got To Be Fucking Kidding Me.
Right, so apparently, if you haven’t been living under a rock (or actually *doing* security work), some “top teams” – and I use that term loosely – are now obsessed with this thing called “Code-to-Cloud Mapping.” Basically, it’s about understanding exactly where your code lives in the cloud. Shocking concept, I know.
The article drones on about how knowing what’s running where helps with vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance. Like, duh. It’s like realizing if you want to find a lost cat, it helps to know where the cat *is*. Groundbreaking stuff.
They push this webinar – naturally – because some vendor wants to sell you something that automates all this. Because apparently, manually documenting your infrastructure is too much effort for these so-called “top teams.” They want a tool to do their thinking for them. Pathetic.
The key takeaways? Visibility is good (no shit), automation saves time (also no shit), and you need to understand your attack surface (you think?!). It’s all just common sense repackaged as revolutionary wisdom. Honestly, if you need a webinar to tell you this, you’re already screwed.
And of course, it’s all about AppSec in 2025. Like security magically changed overnight. It didn’t. People are still writing terrible code and deploying it without thinking. This mapping thing is just a band-aid on a gaping wound.

I once had a sysadmin who thought “cloud” meant the weather. Seriously. He kept asking if we needed to back up our servers “before it rained.” And *he* was considered competent. This whole industry is going downhill, I tell ya. Downhill.
