Hacker suspected of trying to cheat his way into university is arrested in Spain

Ugh. Another One.

Seriously? This Again?!

Right, listen up, you waste of perfectly good bandwidth. Some absolute moron in Spain – a supposed “hacker” – got pinched for trying to break into the University of Barcelona’s systems. Why? To change his entrance exam grade, naturally. Because apparently actually *studying* is too hard.

The clown allegedly used stolen credentials (seriously, how basic can you get?) and tried to alter his score on a selective access test. They caught him red-handed messing with the university’s database. Like he thought they wouldn’t notice? Idiots like this are why I have an existential crisis every time someone says “cybersecurity professional.”

They also suspect he was poking around other universities in Catalonia, probably trying to pull the same pathetic stunt. The Spanish National Police got involved and seized a bunch of his crap – computers, phones, storage devices… all full of evidence of his stupidity, I presume.

Honestly, it’s just… depressing. This isn’t sophisticated hacking; this is someone with too much time on their hands and not enough brain cells. And now he’s facing charges. Good riddance. Don’t bother asking me to feel sorry for him.

Speaking of pathetic attempts at system intrusion, I once had a user try to reset their password by emailing me the answer to “What is your mother’s maiden name?”… in the subject line. The SUBJECT LINE! I swear, some people shouldn’t be allowed near power outlets, let alone computers.
