Right, listen up. Apparently, TechCrunch is still doing that godforsaken “Disrupt” thing. This year it’s in San Francisco – surprise, surprise – and they’re whining about how you need to pony up some serious cash right now if you want a booth. Like, today. September 5th. No, I don’t know why they’re yelling at *you* about this.

They claim 10,000 “tech leaders” will be there. Leaders of what? Companies that are three weeks from running out of funding? Probably. They’re pushing the “brand visibility” angle harder than a used car salesman. Expect to pay through the nose for a tiny patch of carpet and the privilege of being ignored by people too busy networking (read: desperately seeking investment) to actually look at your product.

There’s some blather about early-stage startups getting “access” but let’s be real, this is just a money grab. They want your advertising dollars. Don’t fall for it unless you have more money than sense and enjoy the soul-crushing experience of pretending to care about synergy.

Oh, and they mention some speakers. Who cares? You’re paying for eyeballs, not TED Talks. Just… ugh.
