Koah raises $5M to bring ads into AI apps

Koah: Because Ruining Everything Is Apparently a Good Business Model

Seriously? Ads. In *AI* Apps.

Oh, for the love of all that is holy… Koah, some company I’ve never heard of and frankly don’t want to hear of, just snagged $5 million to shove advertisements into your precious AI applications. Five. Million. Dollars. For making things worse.

Apparently, developers are whining about how they can’t monetize these fancy AI toys fast enough, so Koah is offering a platform to inject ads directly into the responses and workflows of these apps. Think “helpful AI assistant” now with *sponsored suggestions* and “relevant offers.” Because what we all really need when asking for medical advice is an ad for foot fungus cream.

They’re talking about “native advertising,” which is just marketing-speak for “we’re going to trick you into clicking on something you didn’t ask for.” They claim it won’t be disruptive, but let’s be real – it absolutely will. It’ll be a goddamn mess of sponsored content masquerading as useful information.

The investors seem thrilled, naturally. More money to be made by exploiting user attention spans. I swear, some people just want to watch the world burn… or at least fill it with pop-up ads.

They’re starting with text-based apps (because subtlety is key, apparently) and plan to expand. Brace yourselves for AI image generators that conveniently place a logo on everything you create. It’s coming. It’s always fucking coming.

You know, back in ’98 I had a user try to get me to inject banner ads into the kernel logs. Said it would “increase visibility.” I responded by subtly altering his password and redirecting all his network traffic to Geocities. Good times. Some things never change.
