Oh, *Great*. More Nvidia Bullshit.

Right, so Nvidia’s decided the world absolutely needs another GPU. This one, the Blackwell architecture B200, is apparently all about handling ridiculously long “context windows” for these godforsaken AI models. Like anyone actually *needs* to feed a model the entire freaking Library of Congress at once. Seriously?

They’re bragging about 1.8TB of memory – yeah, because that’s what everyone has lying around. And they claim it’s faster than Hopper for this long-context crap. Faster at burning through power and costing a fortune is more like it. They also added some new networking tech called NVLink to make all these GPUs talk to each other, which will inevitably be another source of headaches when things go wrong.

The whole thing’s aimed at cloud providers and the few companies insane enough to throw money at this level of AI nonsense. They’re pushing it as a solution for everything from drug discovery to… financial modeling? Whatever. It’ll probably just be used to generate more pointless marketing copy.

And, naturally, they’ve got some “early access” partners already drooling over it. Because of course they do. Don’t expect to see this in your average workstation anytime soon unless you happen to own a small country.

Honestly, the whole thing reeks of “we can because we can” and not “this is actually useful.”

Back in ’98, some idiot wanted to run a simulation of… wait for it… *ant colonies*. Needed 64MB of RAM. Sixty-four. Megabytes. For ants. I had to spend three days tweaking kernel parameters and writing custom memory allocation routines just to get it running on a Sun Enterprise server. And guess what? It still crashed every five minutes. This Blackwell thing is just that, but scaled up by a factor of… well, a lot. Don’t tell me about “innovation.”
