Seriously? The US *Now* Sanctions These Morons?
Right, so the Treasury Department finally got around to slapping sanctions on a bunch of lowlifes running international tech support scams and… wait for it… romance fraud schemes. Billions stolen from Americans, billions, and they’re just getting to this *now*? Fantastic. Like putting a band-aid on a gaping wound.
Apparently, these chuckleheads – operating out of India and Eastern Europe mostly – were using phone calls, social media, and even dating apps to fleece people outta their hard-earned cash. They’d pretend to be tech support, or some charming prince/princess needing money for… reasons. The usual crap.
They’ve named a few key players: individuals like Gupteshwar Singh, Harkirat Singh, and others involved in the networks. Sanctions mean freezing assets (if they even *have* any left) and generally making it harder for them to operate. But honestly? It’s probably too little, too late. These guys are likely already laundering money through a dozen shell companies.
The FBI is also involved, offering rewards for info leading to arrests. Like that’ll magically solve everything. People are stupid, and scammers will always find new people to exploit. It’s the way of the world, unfortunately.
Honestly, I’m not impressed. This whole thing just proves how easily people get taken advantage of. And the government is always ten steps behind. Don’t fall for this shit, people! If someone you haven’t met online asks for money? Block them. Report them. Use your brain, for once.

Speaking of stupid, I once had a user call because their “internet was broken” after they clicked on a popup promising free iPhones. Free. iPhones. I swear, some people deserve to lose their money just for being that dense. Don’t bother me with this nonsense again.
