Microsoft: Office 2016 and Office 2019 reach end of support next month

Microsoft’s Shitty Support Cycle – A Warning

Seriously? Office 2016 & 2019 Are Officially Dead.

Oh, for the love of all that is holy… Microsoft has decided to pull the plug on support for Office 2016 and Office 2019 next month – October 14th, 2025, to be precise. That means *no more security updates*. None. Zip. Nada. You’re basically inviting every script kiddie and nation-state actor to have a field day with your documents if you haven’t upgraded.

They’re pushing everyone towards Microsoft 365, naturally – because subscriptions are *always* better for the user, right? It’s not like anyone wants to just *buy* software anymore. They want a recurring revenue stream, and your security is apparently collateral damage.

Extended Security Updates (ESU) are available… for a price, of course. Because why would they give you anything for free? It’s another cash grab, plain and simple. If you’re still clinging to these ancient versions, get off your ass and upgrade or pay up. Don’t come crying to me when you get ransomware because you were too cheap to modernize.

And yes, they *warned* people. For years. But let’s be real, most users ignore those warnings until it’s already a flaming disaster. Idiots.

Look, I once had to deal with a user who was still running Windows XP because “it just worked.” Just *worked*. After the tenth time explaining that it was riddled with more holes than Swiss cheese and actively being targeted by malware, I seriously considered unplugging their entire office. Don’t be that user. Seriously.
