Seriously? Stellantis Got Hacked. Again.
Right, so listen up, because I’m only saying this once. Stellantis – yeah, the car company that makes a bunch of vehicles you probably drive – just admitted to a data breach. Surprise, surprise. It wasn’t *them* directly getting pwned, oh no. It was Salesforce, their precious little CRM system, that got compromised. Some clown(s) managed to snag data between July 18th and September 2nd of this year.
What kind of data? Oh, just the usual crap: names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, vehicle info… potentially even driver’s license numbers for some US and Canadian customers. They’re sending notices out to affected people, but honestly, what good is a notice *after* your data’s already floating around in the dark web? It’s like locking the barn door after the horse has not only bolted, but also joined a rodeo.
They claim no critical systems were impacted and production isn’t affected. Sure, Jan. They always say that. And they’re “working with law enforcement” – which means they’re probably trying to figure out how to spin this so it doesn’t completely destroy their reputation. It’s a mess, frankly. A predictable, infuriating mess.
Honestly, relying on third-party vendors for everything is just asking for trouble. It’s like building your house on a foundation of sand and then being shocked when it collapses during a light breeze. Idiots. The whole lot of ’em.

And another thing…
Reminds me of the time a company I consulted for decided to “optimize” their security by switching to a cloud provider. Three months later, they were dealing with a ransomware attack because some idiot left an S3 bucket wide open. Seriously, people, basic security hygiene isn’t optional! It’s like expecting your car to run without oil and then complaining when the engine seizes up. Pathetic.
