Seriously? More of *this* Shit
Right, so the Feds finally managed to drag themselves off their asses and indict two clowns – Nguyen Duc Phuong and Vo Van Hung – for being part of “Scattered Spider,” a ransomware gang that’s been causing headaches since 2022. Apparently, these two morons were key players in hacking over 50 organizations, mostly schools and businesses, and extorting them for a grand total of $115 million. $115 *million*. You know how many perfectly good servers that could buy? Probably more than they’ll ever see.
They didn’t even bother with fancy malware; just basic phishing emails and exploiting vulnerabilities in Citrix, Fortinet, and other stuff people should be patching. Seriously, it’s like watching a toddler break into a house through an unlocked window and then bragging about their “skills”. The indictment details how they used stolen credentials to get access, deployed ransomware (likely LockBit 3.0 at some point), and generally made life miserable for everyone involved.
And the best part? They were living it up in Vietnam while all this was going on. Vietnam is cooperating with the US now, so maybe, *maybe*, these guys will actually face some consequences. Don’t hold your breath though. It’s always a goddamn cat-and-mouse game.
Honestly, if you get phished, you deserve it. Patch your systems. Use MFA. Stop clicking on everything. It’s not rocket science, people!

Speaking of idiots, I once had a sysadmin who thought changing the default password on his router was “too complicated.” He got pwned within 48 hours. I swear, some people actively *try* to get hacked just so they have something to complain about. Pathetic.
