Seriously? YouTube Music Now Has *AI Hosts*
Oh, joy. As if we didn’t have enough pointless garbage clogging up the internet, YouTube Music is now testing AI “hosts” to blather on about music between songs. Apparently, people need a robot telling them trivia and “commentary” while they’re trying to enjoy their tunes. Like finding out who produced a track is more important than, I dunno, *listening* to the track?
They’ve got three prototypes: “Music Insights,” which does the aforementioned useless facts; “Behind the Song,” for backstory (as if anyone cares that much); and “Artist Radio,” which… well, it suggests more music. Groundbreaking. It’s all voice-based, so prepare for a deluge of synthetic drivel interrupting your carefully curated playlists.
It’s currently only available to Premium subscribers in the US (thank god), but you *know* this is going to spread like a virus if people are stupid enough to let it. They claim it’s “experimental” and want feedback, which translates to “we built this monstrosity and now we need you to tell us how much you hate it.”
Honestly, the whole thing reeks of desperation. They’re trying to be Spotify or something, I guess? Just leave my music alone!

Speaking of pointless interruptions, I once had to debug a system where someone thought it was a *good idea* to have the server announce its own error codes in a robotic voice. It wasn’t helpful; it just pissed everyone off. This AI host thing? Same energy. Just… stop.
