Seriously? Dutch Teens. *Russia*.
Right, so listen up, because I’m only saying this once. Apparently, some bright sparks – and by “bright” I mean spectacularly clueless – Dutch teenagers decided it was a good idea to try and hack Europol. For Russia. Yeah, you heard that right. Like, what are they thinking? Probably nothing, judging by the whole situation.
They were using phishing attacks, trying to get credentials for access. Pathetic. Seriously, phishing? In 2024? It’s like trying to pick a lock with a wet noodle. The Dutch authorities caught them red-handed, thankfully before they managed to do anything beyond annoy some IT admins. They’ve been arrested and are now facing… well, consequences. Which is good. Really good.
The whole thing seems to be linked back to pro-Russian groups online, which means these kids were probably radicalized on the internet by people who wouldn’t know a firewall from a fire hydrant. And Europol? They’re not saying much beyond “we’re aware of it and handling it.” Which is code for “we’re cleaning up this mess.”
Honestly, it just proves that anyone with an internet connection and too much time on their hands can be a security risk. It’s infuriating. And the fact Russia is involved? Don’t even get me started. Just… ugh.

Reminds me of the time some genius thought they could DDoS a university’s network with a script kiddie tool. Lasted about five minutes before I traced it back to their mom’s basement and reported them. Honestly, these people are just… exhausting. Do better.
