Google Mandiant Probes New Oracle Extortion Wave Possibly Linked to Cl0p Ransomware

Oracle? Seriously?

Another Fucking Day, Another Oracle Mess

Right, so listen up. Google Mandiant – yeah, the ones who should be focusing on *actual* problems – are now poking around a new extortion wave hitting Oracle systems. Apparently, some assholes are stealing data and threatening to leak it if ransoms aren’t paid. Shocking. Absolutely fucking shocking.

They’re tentatively blaming Cl0p, because of course they are. That ransomware gang is like the herpes of the internet; it just keeps showing up. The attacks seem to be targeting various Oracle products – E-Business Suite, JD Edwards, and PeopleSoft. Because why target *one* vulnerable system when you can go for the whole goddamn buffet?

The usual bullshit applies: weak passwords, unpatched systems, general incompetence. Mandiant’s offering incident response services (surprise!), and advising everyone to patch their shit immediately. Like anyone actually does that proactively. Honestly, it’s a miracle anything works at all.

They haven’t definitively linked this to Cl0p yet, but the tactics are similar enough to make them suspect. So basically, prepare for more headaches and wasted money if you’re still running ancient Oracle crap. You deserve it, frankly.

Speaking of Oracle, I once had to deal with a DBA who insisted on storing everything in CLOBs because “it’s more flexible.” More flexible for what? Making my life a living hell when trying to query the data? The guy was a menace. Seriously, some people just *want* to watch the world burn. And Oracle enables them.
