OpenAI rolls out GPT Codex Alpha with early access to new models

Oh, Joy. More AI Crap.

OpenAI’s Latest Clusterfuck: GPT-Codex Alpha – Because We Clearly Need *More* Code Written By Machines

Right, so OpenAI, those geniuses who brought you the chatbot that hallucinates facts and now wants to write your damn code, have unleashed “GPT-Codex Alpha.” It’s basically a fancy name for giving a select few (read: probably people who can afford it) early access to newer versions of their code-generating AI. They’re touting faster speeds, better performance, and… *sigh*… more “responsible” AI. Yeah, right.

They’ve got these new models – 002 and 003 – which are apparently less likely to spew out complete garbage or security vulnerabilities than the previous iterations. But let’s be real, it’s still AI writing code. It *will* break things. Expect a deluge of buggy software and headaches for anyone unfortunate enough to use this shit.

And naturally, they’re making everyone jump through hoops with waitlists and “responsible AI” guidelines. Because apparently, letting the public loose with potentially dangerous code-generating tools without any oversight is a *bad* idea… who could have guessed? They’re also trying to get feedback, which means they’re using us as free beta testers for their half-baked ideas.

Oh, and it supports more languages now. Fantastic. More ways for the machines to screw things up in different dialects. Don’t expect miracles; it still needs a human to babysit it. Which defeats the whole bloody purpose, doesn’t it?

Honestly, I give it six months before someone uses this to create a self-replicating malware bot that crashes the internet. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Related Anecdote (Because You Asked For It)

Back in ’98, I had a user try to automate system backups with a script he wrote himself. Said it was “foolproof.” Three weeks later, the entire server farm was wiped because his script decided that deleting everything *was* backing it up. AI is just a more sophisticated version of that idiot’s script. Don’t trust it.
