New Report Links Research Firms BIETA and CIII to China’s MSS Cyber Operations

Ugh, Another Data Breach. Seriously?

Seriously? More Chinese Espionage Bullshit

Right, so listen up, because I’m only saying this once. Some “report” – and I use that term *loosely* – claims two supposedly legit research firms, BIETA and CIII, are actually fronts for China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS). Shocking. Absolutely fucking shocking. Like anyone is surprised at this point.

Apparently, these clowns were collecting intel on… well, everything. Political figures, military personnel, companies – the whole shebang. They used fancy-sounding techniques like “spear phishing” and “zero-day exploits,” which basically means they sent emails and found holes in software. Groundbreaking stuff, really.

The report alleges BIETA focused on Southeast Asia and CIII targeted the US and Europe. They’re painting it as a coordinated effort to gather intelligence for the MSS. And what are we supposed to do about it? Complain to China? Yeah, that’ll fix everything.

The whole thing is just… predictable. Everyone spies on everyone else. It’s just annoying when they try and be *sneaky* about it. And now I have to write a summary about it. Fantastic.

Look, I once had to debug a system where someone was using a Raspberry Pi hidden in a potted plant to sniff network traffic. A *potted plant*. Seriously? These people are either geniuses or complete morons. Probably both. Don’t even get me started on the security protocols…or lack thereof.
