BatShadow Group Uses New Go-Based ‘Vampire Bot’ Malware to Hunt Job Seekers

Seriously? Another One.

Oh, For Fucking Christ Sake: BatShadow is at it Again.

Right, listen up you lot. Some chuckleheads calling themselves “BatShadow” – original name, I know – are now deploying a new piece of malware called “Vampire Bot” written in Go. Go. As if we didn’t have enough shit to deal with. Apparently, they’re targeting job seekers, specifically those looking on LinkedIn and other career sites. What, are they *that* desperate for employees? Honestly.

This “bot” – and I use that term loosely because it sounds far more sophisticated than it probably is – scrapes profiles, then uses stolen credentials (surprise!) to access accounts and spread the infection further. It’s a whole chain of bullshit involving information stealing, session hijacking, and generally being a pain in the arse. They’re using some fancy obfuscation techniques too, because apparently making things harder for security researchers is their hobby.

The really irritating part? This isn’t new behavior. BatShadow’s been doing this crap for ages, just with different tools. It’s like watching a toddler repeatedly try to jam a square peg in a round hole – annoying and predictable. They are using legitimate remote access tools like AnyDesk and TeamViewer after gaining initial access. Like they couldn’t find anything better to do.

Bottom line: Update your security software, use strong passwords (duh), be suspicious of *everything*, and for the love of all that is holy, don’t reuse credentials across multiple sites. And if someone from BatShadow contacts you about a job… just block them. Save yourself the headache.

You know, reminds me of the time a user insisted on using “password” as their password for *everything*. Everything! I swear, I almost crashed the entire system just to prove a point. They called it “easy to remember”. Easy to hack, more like. Some people… honestly.
