⚡ Weekly Recap: WhatsApp Worm, Critical CVEs, Oracle 0-Day, Ransomware Cartel & More

Ugh. Another Week, Another Clusterfuck.

Seriously? This is News?

Right, so apparently some script kiddie managed to cobble together a worm for WhatsApp. A worm. Like we haven’t seen enough of those, right? It exploits a video call vulnerability – surprise, surprise – and can install spyware. It’s affecting Android users mostly, because *of course it is*. They also mention some critical CVEs in VMware, Apache RocketMQ, and other garbage I don’t even care to list. Honestly, if you’re running that stuff, you deserve whatever happens.

Then there’s an Oracle 0-day. An *Oracle* 0-day. Like they haven’t had enough security problems already? And some ransomware cartel is apparently being disruptive – newsflash: ransomware cartels are ALWAYS disruptive. They even talk about a new Linux malware family, because why the hell not add more to the pile of crap we have to deal with?

Oh, and they’re whining about phishing attacks targeting Microsoft accounts. People still fall for that? Seriously?! It’s like watching a nature documentary about lemmings marching off a cliff.

The whole thing is just… predictable. Patch your systems, use common sense (apparently a rare commodity these days), and stop clicking on everything you see. Is that too much to ask?

Look, I once had to deal with a user who thought their password was “password”. They got owned so hard it wasn’t even funny. This whole situation just reminds me of that. Pathetic.
