Seriously? Windows 11 Media Creation Tool is Busted. Again.
Oh, for the love of all that is holy… Microsoft has managed to screw up the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool *again*. Apparently, if you’re trying to upgrade from Windows 10 (like a sane person), it’s likely to fail with an error message about unsupported hardware. Yeah, even though your machine probably *is* supported. They released a broken tool and are now telling people to wait for a fix. A FIX! Like they shouldn’t have tested this garbage before unleashing it on the public.
The workaround? Download an ISO directly (if you can figure that out, peasant) or…wait. Wait for Microsoft to get their act together. Fantastic. Just *brilliant*. They’re suggesting using Rufus to create bootable USB drives as a temporary solution, which is just admitting their own tool is complete and utter shite.
And of course, they’ve acknowledged the problem on X (formerly Twitter). Because that makes everything better, right? A public apology doesn’t fix broken software. It just adds insult to injury. Honestly, I’m starting to think they *want* us all to suffer.
Don’t even bother trying unless you enjoy wasting your time and questioning the very fabric of reality. You’ve been warned.
Speaking of broken tools, I once had a user try to upgrade their system during a scheduled maintenance window. They insisted on using the “easy” method (read: clicking all the buttons without reading). It bricked the RAID controller. BRICKED IT. Took me three days and a whole lot of caffeine to recover that mess. And they still blamed *me*. Some people are beyond help, I swear.
