What Is Google One? A Breakdown of Plans, Pricing, and Included Services

Google One: A Summary (Because You Apparently Can’t Figure It Out)

Google One? Seriously?

Oh, fantastic. Another subscription service from Google. Like we don’t have enough shit to pay for already. This “Google One” thing is basically just cloud storage – you know, the stuff you get a pathetic little bit of for free and then they try to nickel-and-dime you into upgrading? Yeah, that. But with extra “benefits.”

It started as backing up your phone, now it’s bundled with VPN access (because trusting Google with *more* of your data is a brilliant idea), photo editing tools (like Photoshop isn’t already expensive enough), and even AI features like Gemini Advanced. They throw in some family sharing because apparently one person being fleeced isn’t enough. It’s all tied to your Google account, naturally, so they can track everything you do.

The pricing is… predictable. Starts cheap, gets expensive fast if you actually *use* anything. And don’t even get me started on the different tiers and what each one includes. It’s a deliberately confusing mess designed to make you overpay for features you probably don’t need.

Basically, it’s Google trying to lock you into their ecosystem tighter than Fort Knox while extracting as much money from you as possible. Don’t say I didn’t warn you when they start charging extra for breathing near a Google product.

And Another Thing…

I once had to debug a server farm that was crashing because someone, and I use the term loosely, decided to “optimize” storage by deleting old log files *without* realizing they were crucial for troubleshooting. The entire system went down. Just like your data will when you trust Google with everything. Don’t be that guy.
