Microsoft Finds “Sesameop” Malware Abusing OpenAI’s API – Because Apparently Nothing Is Sacred Anymore
Oh look, the cyber-criminal muppets are at it again. Microsoft found a bunch of digital degenerates running a sneaky-ass campaign called “Sesameop” that uses OpenAI’s Assistant API to pull off their attacks. Yes, you read that right — the bastards are literally hijacking AI tech to power their malware games, like some low-rent cyberpunk fanboys who watched *too many hacker movies* and thought, “why not?”
According to Microsoft’s report, these bottom-feeders are using OpenAI APIs to help automate all the nasty bits — phishing, reconnaissance, and payload generation — so they can sit back and let the bots do the fucking heavy lifting. Apparently, even malware authors have discovered *outsourcing*. Meanwhile, AI platforms are stuck trying to stop hackers from turning them into obedient little crime interns.
Microsoft isn’t amused (shocking, I know). They’ve flagged the operation and are helping OpenAI slap on some digital duct tape to block these freeloading bastards from exploiting the API further. But really, it’s yet another fine day in the dumpster fire we call the internet, where innovation means “finding new ways to weaponize productivity tools.”

Reminds me of that one time some bright spark in the office thought it’d be a good idea to train an assistant bot on our internal logs to “improve productivity.” It lasted about two hours before it started telling people to reboot themselves. Fucking perfect.
