ClickUp’s New “AI Assistant”: Because Apparently Everyone Needs One Now
Right, so ClickUp decided to jump on the already overcrowded AI bandwagon like every other productivity-obsessed bunch of silicon cowboys out there. They’ve rolled out a shiny new “AI assistant” that’s supposed to make your work life less of a flaming dumpster fire. Spoiler alert: it probably won’t. But hey, marketing needs a new buzzword every quarter, right?
Apparently, this digital paperclip-on-steroids now helps you sort tasks, summarize messages, manage projects, and maybe even hold your hand through another pointless Monday meeting. The whole bloody thing is supposed to “compete with Slack and Notion,” because of course it is — everyone’s competing with them, even your coffee machine’s probably in beta testing to “streamline your caffeine workflow.”
ClickUp’s execs are basically shouting about how this will “revolutionize productivity,” which we all know is corporate speak for “We needed something flashy to show investors.” It can draft updates, summarize chat threads, and pretend to save time while you’re still stuck in twelve “quick syncs” a day. AI this, AI that — it’s all just fancy automation sprinkled with enough hype to clog a marketing funnel.
So yeah, ClickUp’s keeping up with the Joneses — or rather, the Slackers and the Notion cultists — with their new AI sidekick. Will it actually make your work life better? Don’t make me fucking laugh. But hey, at least it’ll give you another excuse to spend the afternoon “testing” features while you contemplate your life choices.

Reminds me of the time some genius in the office installed a “helpful” bot to manage ticket queues — except the thing started assigning every problem to me. Three days later, the bot mysteriously “malfunctioned,” and the only ticket it got was a one-way trip to the digital shredder. Some lessons just can’t be automated.
