Hackers exploited Citrix, Cisco ISE flaws in zero-day attacks

Hackers Go Full Gremlin on Citrix and Cisco — Because Of Course They Bloody Did

Well, it’s another glorious day in IT security hell — hackers once again poked holes in Citrix and Cisco crap faster than you can say “unpatched production server.” Turns out some sneaky bastards exploited zero-days in Citrix NetScaler ADC, Citrix Gateway, and Cisco’s Identity Services Engine (ISE). Congratulations, everyone, the apocalypse has been updated to version who-gives-a-fuck-dot-zero.

According to the write-up, these weren’t just your typical script kiddies — no, these were professional-grade assholes who managed to chain the vulnerabilities together to waltz in where they damn well pleased. Citrix even admitted their zero-day (CVE-2023-3519) had already been used to breach government networks. Because if there’s one thing hackers love more than Bitcoin, it’s incompetent sysadmins running sensitive shit on unpatched systems.

Cisco also got its fair share of humiliation when researchers discovered attackers were targeting an old flaw in Cisco ISE before the lazy sods patched it. A patch! Imagine that! But apparently, installing updates is as tedious as using Internet Explorer in 2024. So the hackers just swooped in like a drunk raccoon at a barbecue.

The moral of this flaming dumpster fire? If you’ve got Citrix or Cisco crap in your stack and you haven’t patched yet — what the actual fuck are you doing? Pack your bags, your network’s already an Airbnb for ransomware.

The write-up from BleepingComputer basically tells us everything we already knew: companies don’t patch, hackers exploit, everyone screams, and IT gets blamed. Lather, rinse, repeat. Honestly, it’s like watching someone set themselves on fire and then complain it’s too hot.

Reminds me of the time some bright spark thought the backup server didn’t need antivirus because “it’s only used for storage.” Two hours later, ransomware had turned their file system into modern art. Idiots. Pure, majestic idiots.
