Weekly Recap: Yet Another Week in Cybersecurity Hell
Right, strap in, you miserable lot. This week’s cyber dumpster fire features Fortinet getting its digital underwear stolen again, China’s AI hacks making everyone paranoid, and some greasy Phishing-as-a-Service (PhaaS) empire finally going down the electronic toilet. Honestly, you couldn’t make up this level of clusterfuck if you tried.
First up, Fortinet — those geniuses who apparently think “patching” means crossing their fingers — got their systems exploited like a freshman’s dorm Wi-Fi. Some opportunistic bastards went rummaging through unpatched boxes and popped them wide open. Bravo. Round of applause. Everyone knew it was coming, except, apparently, Fortinet.
Then there’s the usual Big Red Dragon circus — Chinese state-backed hackers allegedly using fancy AI tools to snoop, manipulate, and probably scare the living shit out of Westerners. Because who needs movies when reality’s this cracked? AI-assisted espionage, the next big thing. Pour one out for the poor bastards in SecOps trying to sleep through those alerts.
Oh, and the cherry on the digital turd pie: a PhaaS ring — yes, that’s Phishing-as-a-Service, for the uninitiated — finally got shattered. Law enforcement dropped the hammer on some scammers peddling ready-made scams to script kiddies too stupid to code their own trash. Cue the world’s tiniest violin for their “business model.”
Meanwhile, breaches, leaks, and ransomware attacks are still popping up like malware in a Windows XP lab. Everyone’s shocked, again, that the same vulnerabilities are being exploited. Maybe next week we’ll all act surprised when water is still wet and CISO budgets are still microscopic.

Reminds me of that time I warned a junior admin to rotate passwords and he said, “It’s fine, no one knows the default.” Three hours later, the subnet looked like Times Square on ransomware night. Some stupid bastards never learn.
