Jeff Bezos Buys More Clever Bastards – Because He Can
Oh, bloody hell, what a surprise — Jeff “I’ve-got-more-money-than-God” Bezos is at it again, this time snapping up some hip AI startup called FigureAI that’s playing with “agentic computing,” whatever the hell that means. Basically, he wants his new AI plaything, Altos Labs (or whatever he’s calling it this week), to make machines that can think, plan, and act on their own — which is perfect, because he’s been doing the same to underpaid warehouse humans for years.
Apparently, Bezos’ shiny AI company Olympus (or maybe Olympus AI — pick a name already, Jeff!) is aiming to go toe-to-toe with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind. Because heaven forbid he not shove his face into the AI feeding trough like every other billionaire who’s just discovered “prompt engineering” and thinks it’s witchcraft.
So, his outfit goes and quietly buys a stealth-mode startup called Agentic — a bunch of clever tech nerds building software that lets machines do multi-step tasks on their own. In other words, they’re trying to make AIs that don’t need babysitting, which sounds bloody terrific until they decide to unionize or launch nukes. Bezos, of course, says nothing. The man treats “quietly acquiring” companies like it’s foreplay.
Everyone’s acting all excited like this is the next big leap in AI — asynchronous, agent-driven computing models, blah blah buzzwords vomit — when we all know it’s the same shit with a fancier press release. The real headline should’ve been: “Bezos Buys More Tech to Ensure Humanity’s Replacement Proceeds On Schedule.”
Anyway, the tech bros are creaming themselves, the money’s flowing, and soon enough some half-baked agent will be “autonomously optimizing logistics” (translation: firing humans faster). Another day in the shiny dystopia, folks.

Reminds me of the time I automated a manager’s job with a cron script. The idiot still came in every day, doing nothing, until HR realized the system was running smoother without him. That was a good week. Cheers,
