Windows 11 Update Finally Stops File Explorer from Throwing a Fit
Well, holy flaming dumpster fire, Microsoft actually managed to unfuck something for once. The shiny new patch, dubbed KB5070311, rolled out for Windows 11, and apparently it tackles those lovely “File Explorer randomly freezes because it hates you” issues. Yeah, that thing where you’re just trying to open a goddamn folder and the system goes on vacation — fixed, allegedly. About bloody time.
This update also supposedly handles that clusterfuck of a search problem where your PC pretends it’s never heard of file indexing. So, no more typing filenames only for the search bar to sit there like a lazy bastard doing fuck-all. Oh, and they’ve done some “performance tweaks” — which in Microsoft-speak usually means it’ll stop crashing just long enough for you to think it’s working properly before it finds another creative way to screw you over.
And guess what? You can grab this marvel of modern technology through Windows Update right now. Because we all love rolling the dice with Redmond’s idea of “quality assurance.” Go mash that “Check for updates” button and hope it doesn’t reinstall Clippy while it’s at it.
If you want all the gory details (and joyously sarcastic confirmation that yes, we needed a *whole goddamn KB patch* for something as basic as file browsing), check it out here:

Reminds me of the time a user complained their “computer was slow,” and it turned out they hadn’t rebooted in 147 days. I told them to consider joining the uptime cult — right after uninstalling their toaster-grade antivirus. Some people just shouldn’t be allowed near technology.
