Microsoft Intune December updates: Workflow automation, macOS, iOS, Android enhancements

Microsoft Intune December Updates – Oh Look, More Bloody “Enhancements”

Right, so Microsoft’s pushed out another round of “updates” for Intune this December, and surprise bloody surprise — they’re calling it an “enhancement”. Apparently, they’ve added some fancy workflow automation that’s supposed to make your IT life easier. Yeah, and I bet it makes coffee too. Basically, it’s Microsoft saying, “Let’s automate all the crap that breaks anyway,” so when it fails, it fails much faster and with greater efficiency. Bravo, Redmond, absolutely stellar work.

They’ve also decided to sprinkle some love on macOS, iOS, and Android devices — because obviously, every enterprise admin just loves juggling five different device profiles and ten configuration policies just to push a wallpaper. iOS and macOS management gets extra “controls,” whatever the hell that means, and Android Enterprise admins can now waste a few more hours fiddling with enrollments that still won’t behave properly. But hey, at least now you can trigger automated workflows when your users do something stupid — which is basically all the time.

So yeah, another month, another pile of “feature improvements” that fixes none of the real problems you actually have, but adds twenty new menu options buried under three layers of UI hell. Cheers, Microsoft. Nothing says “we care” like giving admins more sodding buttons to click.

Reminds me of the time I automated a manager’s “urgent” ticket routing straight to /dev/null. He thought the system was being incredibly fast, and I got a week of peace. Sometimes automation really does improve productivity — when it’s used for the right kind of evil.
