GlassRAT? GlassWORM? Whatever It Is – Macs Just Got Properly Shafted by Malware Again
Oh bloody brilliant, just what the smug Mac crowd needed – a fresh serving of digital shit stew called GlassRAT (because apparently, every pile of malware needs a cool futuristic name). Turns out some sneaky bastards are shoving trojanized crypto wallet apps at Mac users, and surprise, surprise, it’s hiding malware nastier than a sysadmin on a Monday morning.
So, these bright sparks behind the attack are using “repackaged” wallet apps – you know, the ones poor sods download thinking they’ll get rich trading made-up internet coins. But nope! Instead, they get a lovely little RAT (that’s Remote Access Trojan for you blissfully ignorant types) that burrows deep into macOS like a drunk mole on a rampage. Then it phones home to the attackers so they can poke around your system, steal data, execute commands, and generally ruin your day.
Apparently, the malware campaign’s using some websites pretending to be legit crypto projects – because no one suspects the fancy logos and buzzwords, right? Once the victim downloads this shiny “wallet,” GlassRAT cozies up in the background, and boom – your Mac’s more compromised than your boss’s moral standards.
Even better, Apple’s notarization crap doesn’t seem to stop this dumpster fire. So, despite all the smug marketing about “secure and safe macOS,” GlassWorm-style malware is shitting all over that fantasy. The only thing Apple users are immune to now is humility.
Moral of the story? Don’t trust random crypto apps, stop thinking you’re invincible because you’ve got an expensive shiny apple logo, and for the love of caffeine and sanity, read before you click.

Signoff: Reminds me of the time some idiot in accounting plugged a “free thumb drive” into their PC and screamed when it encrypted their entire department’s files. Classic. Some people learn. Most don’t.
