Online retailer PcComponentes says data breach claims are fake

PCComponentes vs. The Alleged Data Breach Nonsense

So apparently, some genius out there decided to stir a pot of bullshit by claiming that PCComponentes—the Spanish electronics retailer—had its customer data spewed all over the dark web. Cue the panic, the “we’ve been hacked!” crowd, and all the keyboard warriors frothing like they’ve just uncovered the next big conspiracy. But guess what? The company came out swinging and said it’s total bollocks. Yup, no breach, no stolen passwords, no shady hacker memorabilia for sale—just the usual online assholes trying to look important.

According to PCComponentes, they’ve looked into it and found zip, nada, sweet fuck-all evidence that anything was actually breached. The so-called leaked data? Probably fake crap someone scraped from the internet or made up between watching pirated anime and eating day-old pizza. Meanwhile, the company’s doing the PR dance, reassuring everyone their systems are as tight as a sysadmin’s coffee budget after a hardware upgrade season.

Of course, some folks still believe every random screenshot and “trust me bro” post they see online. But that’s the internet, right? Facts are for nerds—panic sells better. The company even reported the fake claim to authorities, which is Spanish for “we’re done with your shit, now it’s police time.”

In short—someone screamed “data breach,” PCComponentes called bullshit, and the rest of us get to watch another episode of *Why People Shouldn’t Be Allowed Online Without a License*.

Reminds me of the time some intern told me the “server was hacked” because his desktop wallpaper changed. Turns out he’d just installed a bloody theme pack. Still made him reinstall Windows, mind you—pain builds character.
