Anthropic and the $20B Fucking Money Train
Well, strap in, because Anthropic — yes, those AI do-gooders supposedly safeguarding humanity from rogue code — are about to become even more disgustingly rich. The bastards are closing in on a mind-bending $20 billion funding round. That’s billion with a “B,” not a typo, not a joke. Some investors apparently looked at the flaming AI arms race and thought, “Sure, let’s pour another truckload of dollars into the inferno.”
The round supposedly ropes in the usual suspects: Big Tech vultures, money-hungry VCs, and probably a few hedge funds who still think “alignment” isn’t just a car maintenance term. Anthropic’s pitch? They’re building big, cautious AIs that don’t set civilization on fire. Right, because that’s totally how this Silicon Valley clusterfuck works — one more billion should really make the robots play nice this time.
Meanwhile, everybody from OpenAI to Google is doing the same shit faster, louder, and with more hype — and now Anthropic’s playing catch-up wrapped in a halo made of moral posturing and dollar bills. Let’s be real: “responsible AI” these days means “we’ll destroy humanity politely, with an ethics committee memo first.”
Anyway, it’s another day, another obscene cash dump into the AI rat race. Let’s hope when their next model wakes up and decides to nuke us all, it at least sends a kindly-worded farewell email.

Reminds me of that time I watched a junior sysadmin “optimize” the servers by deleting the entire production database because he thought it was a test environment. Everyone panicked, I laughed, rebuilt it in an hour, and billed them overtime. Moral of the story: idiots + too much confidence = job security. Same energy here.
