Seriously? Workday, AGAIN?!
Oh joy. Another fucking data breach. This time it’s Workday, the HR giant everyone trusts with their most sensitive information. Apparently, some “unauthorized party” (read: script kiddie or state-sponsored actor, take your pick) managed to snag access to systems containing customer data. They’re being deliberately vague about *what* data, naturally – because transparency is for suckers.
This isn’t happening in a vacuum either. It’s conveniently timed with ongoing attacks against Salesforce (who Workday integrates with, surprise!). They claim it’s unrelated, but I’ve seen more believable conspiracy theories on 4chan. They’re saying the breach affected a limited number of customers, and they’ve “taken steps” to contain it. Steps? Like finally patching that ancient vulnerability from 2018? Don’t hold your breath.
The worst part? They don’t even know *how* this happened yet. Fantastic security posture, guys. Absolutely stellar. Expect more details… eventually. Probably after the PR team has spun it into something resembling competence. They are advising customers to be vigilant and watch for phishing attempts – as if we weren’t already doing that.
Honestly, if you’re using Workday, start updating your resume. Just saying.

And another thing…
Reminds me of the time a company insisted on using an unpatched Exchange server because “it just works.” Three months later, they were paying ransomware. Some people learn the hard way. Workday will probably be one of them.
