FBI, Cisco Warn of Russian Attacks on 7-Year-Old Flaw

Seriously?!

You’ve Got to Be Fucking Kidding Me.

Right, listen up, you lot. The FBI and Cisco are flapping their gums about Russian state-sponsored actors exploiting a seven-year-old vulnerability in Cisco gear. SEVEN YEARS OLD. Are you shitting me? Apparently, it’s in Small Business RV340 Series VPN Routers, and some other ancient crap. They’re using it to steal data, set up backdoors, and generally cause mayhem.

The worst part? This flaw has been patched since 2017! But guess what? People – *people* – are still running unpatched systems. Unbelievable. The attackers (likely affiliated with the Sandworm group, because of course it is) are actively scanning for these relics and pouncing on them like vultures. They’re calling this operation “Operation Seahawk” which sounds about as threatening as a damp kitten.

The FBI and Cisco are telling everyone to patch NOW. Like, yesterday. And if you can’t patch (because you’re too lazy or incompetent), they suggest taking the damn things offline. Honestly, it’s just basic security hygiene people! This isn’t rocket science; it’s common sense.

So yeah, Russian hackers are exploiting ancient shit because some of you can’t be bothered to update your equipment. Fantastic. Just…fantastic.

Related Anecdote: I once had to deal with a system administrator who refused to patch a server because “it was working fine.” Three weeks later, it got ransomwareed. He then proceeded to whine about how *my* security protocols were inadequate. Some people are beyond help.
