Microsoft Edge Is Finally Putting Manifest V2 Out of Its Miserable Damn Misery

That means beloved old warhorses like uBlock Origin and other MV2-based add-ons are headed for the fucking chopping block in Edge unless they’ve already been rebuilt for Manifest V3.
Microsoft says this is all about “security” and “privacy” and “modernizing the extension platform,” which is corporate-speak for “we’re changing the rules, deal with it.” To be fair, MV3 is supposed to improve things under the hood and limit what extensions can do in ways that might stop dodgy shit. But it also screws with the power and flexibility that made some extensions actually useful in the first place. Funny how that works.
