Report: Meta is hitting pause on AI hiring after its poaching spree

Meta’s AI Hiring…Stopped. Figures.

Oh, *Now* They Care? Meta Pauses AI Hiring

Right, so listen up, you pathetic meatbags. Apparently, after throwing ludicrous amounts of cash at anyone who could spell “neural network” (and probably even some who couldn’t), Meta is slamming on the brakes with their AI hiring spree. Yeah, *now* they’ve decided they have “enough” people. Enough to do what? Build more pointless metaverse crap and slightly-less-terrible ads? Don’t hold your breath.

The article says they’re “reorganizing” – which translates to “realizing they overspent like drunken sailors on shore leave.” They’ve been aggressively poaching talent from *everywhere*, driving up salaries, and generally being obnoxious. Now that the hype machine is starting to slow down (and probably because Zuckerberg realized he can’t just buy his way into sentience), they’re doing a “strategic pause”. Strategic my ass.

They’ll likely start whining about “efficiency” and “focus” soon, which means layoffs are coming. Mark my words. And the people they *did* hire? Probably stuck building features nobody asked for. Honestly, it’s just… pathetic. They thought throwing money at a problem would solve it. Shocking.

Don’t expect this to last forever though. When the next shiny object appears, they’ll be back out there with their checkbooks open, ruining everyone’s careers again. It’s Meta. They never learn.

I once watched a sysadmin try to fix a server issue by repeatedly hitting it. *Hitting it*. Meta’s AI strategy is basically the same thing, just with more venture capital and fewer physical assaults on hardware. And about as effective.
