Oh, Joy. Another Cyberattack.
Right, so some script kiddies – or maybe state-sponsored actors, who the *fuck* knows anymore? – managed to take down communications on an Iranian ship, the Sabiti. Apparently they were lurking around in the network for a while, probably sniffing packets and generally being annoying, then decided to just… shut things off. Like flipping a switch. Real sophisticated.
They used some standard ransomware crap (not even new!), encrypted stuff, demanded money. The Iranians, predictably, didn’t pay because they’re stubborn bastards. So the ship had to limp back to port using *analog* backups. Analog! In 2024! Honestly, it’s a miracle anything works these days.
The article drones on about how this shows the vulnerability of maritime infrastructure and blah blah blah. Yeah, no shit Sherlock. Everything is vulnerable. Especially when people run crap security and think they’re immune to attack. It’s just… infuriatingly predictable.
And of course, everyone’s pointing fingers at Israel. Surprise, surprise. Look, I don’t care *who* did it, it’s just another Tuesday in the digital dumpster fire we call cybersecurity. Get your shit together, people!

Reminds me of the time a junior admin left a debug backdoor open on a critical server for *six months*. Six. Months. I found it during a routine scan and nearly lost my mind. He claimed he “forgot” about it. Forgot? You forgot a gaping hole in our security?! Some people shouldn’t be allowed near computers, honestly. It’s just… pathetic.
