Right, so Mukesh Ambani, the bloke who basically *is* India’s telecom market, has decided he wants an AI backbone too. Shocking. Absolutely fucking shocking. He’s partnering with Google and Meta (because of course he is) to build this thing – Jio Platforms will be throwing money at them to do it. Basically, they’re going to create a massive language model trained on…wait for it…Indian languages. Groundbreaking.

The whole point? To make sure *he* controls the AI narrative in India, not some open-source hippie collective or, god forbid, actual competition. They’re talking about everything from chatbots to content creation tools, all powered by this centrally controlled system. Expect a lot of “AI for the masses” PR bullshit while they lock everyone else out.

They’ve already got a ton of data thanks to Jio’s user base (because people are cheap and give away their privacy), so it’s not like they’re starting from scratch. It’ll be all shiny and new, integrated into everything Jio does – telecom, retail, whatever the hell else he decides to buy next. And naturally, there’s talk of “democratizing AI access” which translates to “making sure you use *our* AI.”

Honestly? It’s just another power grab disguised as innovation. Don’t expect anything revolutionary; expect something heavily curated and controlled. I give it six months before someone complains about bias or censorship, then.
