Oh, For Fucking Christ’ Sake: Roblox Now Wants to Be TikTok
Right. So, apparently, the geniuses over at Roblox have decided that what their platform really needed was another short-form video feed. Like we don’t have enough brain-rotting content already? They’re calling it “Discover,” and it’s basically just a TikTok clone for gameplay clips. Because *that’s* original.
And, naturally, they’re throwing AI at the problem like it’ll magically fix everything. New tools for creators – because apparently making games wasn’t hard enough, now you need AI to help you make… videos? They’ve got some “AI-powered” stuff to generate assets and even a “Remix” feature that lets people slap their garbage onto other peoples creations. Wonderful.
They also want to shove more ads at everyone, because of course they do. More monetization options for creators (read: ways to squeeze more money out of kids), and some new avatar stuff. Honestly, it’s just a desperate grab for attention in a market that’s already saturated with the same crap.
Oh, and they are trying to make their platform “safer” by using AI moderation tools… as if that will actually work. Good luck with *that* one, Roblox. I’m sure it won’t be a disaster at all.
Seriously, just… ugh. Another pointless feature nobody asked for. They should focus on fixing the actual problems with their platform instead of chasing trends like some desperate teenager.
