Seriously? More Patches.
Right, so Microsoft’s had another month of letting shit slide and now we get a Patch Tuesday dump. September 2025’s offering is… extensive. Like they *tried* to break everything all at once. We’re talking about 83 CVEs this time around – mostly security updates, naturally. Because why fix things properly in the first place?
The really fun stuff? A bunch of elevation-of-privilege vulnerabilities (because giving users more access is *always* a good idea), some remote code execution holes (remote code execution! Shocking!), and a few information disclosure issues. You know, the usual garbage. There’s even crap in Exchange Server again – seriously, just retire that thing already.
Talos has, predictably, thrown together Snort rules for the important ones. Because *someone* has to clean up Microsoft’s mess. They highlight a few critical RCE vulnerabilities in Windows and Office as needing immediate attention. Don’t bother reading the whole report unless you enjoy pain.
Oh, and there’s some stuff about Azure too. Surprise, surprise. More cloud nonsense that needs patching. Honestly, if I had a nickel for every time Microsoft screwed something up in the cloud…
Just get your updates done already. I’m not going to hold your hand through this. And don’t come crying to me when things break.

Speaking of messes, I once had to rebuild an entire server farm because someone decided to “optimize” the registry. Optimize! They’d downloaded some bullshit tool off Download.com. Download.com! The sheer incompetence… it still keeps me up at night. Don’t be that guy.
