Idiots and Fake FBI Portals: A Warning (Like You Needed One)
Right, listen up, you lot. Apparently, some absolute morons are setting up fake FBI crime reporting portals. Yes, you read that correctly. They’re pretending to be the goddamn feds to steal your info and probably run scams. Like, is this news? People fall for *anything*.
These clowns clone legitimate-looking sites (IC3.gov being a favorite target), then use them to phish for details about reported crimes – which they’ll then exploit. They’re after PII, financial data, crypto wallet info… the usual crap. The FBI is warning everyone because, shockingly, some people can’t tell the difference between a real website and something cobbled together in five minutes by a script kiddie.
They’re even using compromised email accounts to send links to these bogus portals. So basically, don’t click on *anything* unless you went directly to IC3.gov yourself. And for the love of all that is holy, verify the URL! It’s not rocket science.
The FBI says report it if you find one, but honestly, if you fell for it in the first place… well, good luck with your life. Don’t come crying to me.

And Another Thing…
I once had a user try to reset their password by emailing me the answer to their security question. The question? “What is your password?” I swear, some people are actively trying to get hacked. It’s exhausting.
